Nate Berkus Looking Glass Mirror Spray

I love Nate Berkus (really, what crafter doesn't?) but on March 28th he opened my eyes to a (seemingly) wonderful product by Krylon called Looking Glass Mirror-Like Aerosol Spray.  Although I have not tried it yet, I have posted the video segment for all to enjoy.

However, be warned:
1. You can not find it in any hardware store (including Lowes or Home Depot), they simple do not carry it.  They do carry metallic sprays and metals, but I didn't adventure into trying those because they do not say "mirror like".

2. Watch the can size.  I have post the Amazon link in order to purchase this cool spray, but it is a 6 ounce can.  That is 1/2 the size of your normal spray can of 12 ounces.  If you take note to the shipping weight, it says 1.6 ounces (if someone might explain to me why shipping weight is less than the can?)

3.  Only seems to work on glass.  That leaves my wood designs out.... but maybe it does work on plastic or metal.  I think they just list "glass" as the main surface, but any non-absorbant surface would seem to work. (like I said, leaves my wood out).

Please enjoy.... I thought this was pretty cool!

Tea Bag Dispensers

Living in New York City for 15 years, I calculated living with over 25 various roommates. A good chunk of those roommates did occur in a rare 3 bedroom, 3 loft apartment, but my steady smaller three bedroom abode saw it's fair share of "roommate needed" craigslist ads as well.  With so many people coming and going.... there was alway one thing in our cupboard....TEA BAGS and their ever so famous, tea bag boxes.  Oh, we had Tazo Tea, Celestrial Seasoning, Lipton, organic from Whole Foods tea..... we had green tea, lemon tea, english breakfast, jasmine tea, orange tea.  We had tea for dieting, sleeping, cleansing, general drinking....  If you wanted tea, we were the ones who had it!

I tried and tried for a better way to organize our tiny shared cupboard space, but the tea boxes just kept lingering and stacking up.  I decided to buy a simple tea bag box for the wall as useful decoration.  I looked and looked, I asked my antiquing aunt to keep an eye out for me, but no luck.  Something I thought was so simple and obvious were not to be found.  So I did the only artist thing I could think of.... Made them myself!

Wow, what a difference.  Just place the tea bag into the box and enjoy the decoration until that next cup (tomorrow, next week, a year).

Put a variety pack in and be suprised!
Put only the tea you are not a fan of in and save for guest!
Design four boxes together for each flavor you like, while decorating empty wall space.

I love these tea bag boxes and I hope you do too.  Please enjoy my collection and just follow the link towards cleaning up your cupboard of these, although splendid, mess!

wow April 14th!

this is the same day one year later from my last post.... I must get blogging spring fever!
